Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a unexpected collaboration that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Disclosed

According to the official statement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of prohibited practices and fearsome transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The plot features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine sect.

The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Additional Features

Players who finish the quest will acquire an unique katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Newest Free Story Addition

This release also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime series. The series earlier showcased a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
