Uche Sparks Dominant Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This occasion provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second game in succession.

A Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season were no match even for a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Control Asserted from the Start

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a straightforward tap-in.

Midfielder Adam Wharton went close soon after, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the referee waved away the protests.

The formerArsenal striker did not have wait long to get his goal, tapping home from close range after Uche's effort had hit the post.

Shelbourne were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a header from a corner.

Pino Seals the Contest

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
